I recently made a trip to the Royal Botanic Gardens Edinburgh to take samples from their vast tropical plant herbarium and greenhouse collections. The curators at RGBE kindly allowed me to take small pieces of leaf, stem, flower, seed, fruit and root, from which we'll be making slides for our new phytolith reference collation.
